I just go out the bottom.  If you put a ziploc bag over it there's not much
mess.  You do need to move some lines around (p/s?) but it's no problem.  

FWIW, if you can't get a grip with one of those metal-band-on-a-handle type
wrenches, you can wrap the metal band with friction tape.
