Why would my left channel suddenly disappear and the Aktiv amplifier get extremely hot despite not having the ignition on? That side has been acting funny in the past three weeks as I've been getting the occasional cracking or interference. Today, it just quit.
As for background, I have a cd unit that is using the existing Aktiv amplifier and wiring. I know, I know, someone took the easy route out. I guess the amp is now complete crap and I have to rewire the speakers in the cabin individually? Does this sound right? I saw no shorts in the cd wiring and none in the door panel. It might be the cd unit, but the subs in the back work. BTW, Jay's Aktiv page is no longer active (no pun intended).
