I would recommend a single 12" sub, or a single 10". Both will make PLENTY of noise. My GTI with a JL 12W6 and a Fosgate Punch 500A2 (which puts out closer to 700W according to the birth sheet) is PLENTY loud. Granted, the retail cost on both of those pieces is over $600 total. I paid under half that for all of it. :) On the other hand, my jetta has an MTX 12" from circuit city, and a 200W sony amp. It still puts out plenty of noise and sounds decent... and that setup cost me a little over $100. :) The GTI is much tighter, and has plenty of headroom from the amp. It stays flat down to about 25hz, and still handles transients quite well. The jetta on the other hand is a bit muddy at times, and doesn't have quite the low frequency extension. Those are pretty much the two extremes budgetwise. At one point i ran the 12W6 with the smaller amp, and it plain did not work. The cheaper sub sounds better with the smaller amp. So, i would say that it will work for a time with that 125W amp, but it will sound much better with something more substantial driving it. Suggestions: 12W3's (4 ohm, single voice coil) and 12W6's (6 ohm, dvc) are both going for about $150 on ebay now. I'd recommend the W6, set up as a 3 ohm load, and a decent amp to run it. Although- the amp you have might not run anything more than a 10" well. If you're going to use that amp, my recommendations hold the same... JL's rock. Just buy a 10W6 or a 10W3. When you're looking to buy an amp, fosgate rocks. A little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
