Read this... you can skip some of the technical stuff, but it's a good intro. http://www.miata.net/sport/Physics/ > John Caldwell probably knows the best books, > I guess i'm being summoned! :) Carroll Smith has a bunch of great books. He wrote them quite a while back, but all the stuff there is still very valid. You'll want to look at "Drive to Win" and "Tune to win." Since you're probably not going to be engineering a race car from the ground up, the other books won't help too much. People have said it over and over, that "the best performance modification you can make is to your driving"... and I didn't realize it until I went autocrossing recently. I've done big track racing here and there, but it wasn't until I had that much competition on such a small course that I realized how bad some of my habits were. :) Once you get to a level where you're out there having fun, ride with as many people as you can, see how they drive the track. That's what helps me the most. _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
