Hey,

Yes I applied it to the trim while on the car. the little bit that i got on the
paint whiped off easily. this stuff seems to take about an hour to dry so I
guess as long as you do it right away you should not have any problems. I also
has a fresh coat of wax on the car and I am sure that helped. I guess you could
tape off the areas around the trim but I do not think it is necessary. the
applicator is very easy to use and I was able to get very close to the edges of
the trim without getting any on the paint although the applicator is a bit
small to cover large areas.

good luck

Mike

Mike,

Did u apply the Forever Black to the trim pieces while attached to the
car? If so, what happens if u get a little on the paint? Does it come off
easily? Does it come off, but leave a mark/stain/spot/etc.?

If I can avoid it, I would really, really NOT have to take every trim
piece off the car. These damned '90 GLis have a lot of black trim.

  Thanks for the info...

I used forever black on my 88 16V about 3 months ago and still looks good. I
try to wash the car every week and the stuff does not appear to be fading or
wearing off. it comes in a small bottle kinda like a shoe polish sponge
applicator. it was enough to do every piece of black trim on the car. 2
coats 3 in some places and there is still some left over. for $10 I am very
happy with the results. time will tell if it really is forever.
