I haven't actually experienced this problem myself, as it's happening on my girlfriend's scirocco, but the car basically won't idle when it's cold. It drives OK, maybe with a bit of hesitation, but if you take your foot off the gas, it dies. This is only a real problem when cold...or as cold as it can be when the temp is in the 90's.
