Mark,

Definitely some good info you provided in your post.
Two additional tricks:

1) Valet Switch - I took mine out completely. My
valet mode can be activated thru the remote, so I said
forget the switch. Also, I have a hidden switch (no
one will ever find it, trust me) under the hood to
turn off the alarm directly. Works great when my
alarm goes dead or I want to completely turn the alarm
off.

2) Kill Switch - I have an additional kill switch to
turnoff power to my starter in line with the alarm
kill switch. Just an extra level of protection. This
switch is in the passenger compartment, but not easy
to find either. I have heard of people putting kill
switches in rear defroster/hazard switch circuits, so
you can only start the car when the defroster is
off/on. Relays are amazing when it comes to options
on alarm systems, the possibilities are endless.
Right now I am think of setting up something to turn
off the fuel pump, and ignition on a separate switch
(tap into coil primary wire, and fuel pump turn on,
hook it up to a SPDT relay.)

Hope this helps,
Denis G.
