FWIW, I ran w/out the O2 sensor (disconnected and hole plugged) for a few months and the only thing I noticed was that it didn't idle as well when the engine was still cold and gas mileage was only a couple of MPG for the worse. When you have a bad or no O2 sensor, it runs rich while at part throttle/low rpms. The way to correct that is to always run at full throttle...
BTW, 15mpg is what I've averaged while running continuous full throttle... Son ps - this post shouldn't count toward my 7/mo limit...
How is your gas mileage? If your gas mileage is suffering really badly (lets say around 10-15 mpg), then your O2 sensor is shot! :( - -Chuck
