How is ABS identified, there is some speed sensor or something near the calipers yes? This car has a "Wolfsburg" emblem on the dash on the opposite corner of the 16v emblem placement. Both euro blinker spots have the emblem also. I think the grille is off of a GTi because it has the red factory painted stripe around it. I've never seen one of these close up so I don't know the identifying clues. The interior is no power on mirrors or windows. The VIN indicates assembly in Wolfsburg.
BTW, I don't know what is going on around here but in Anacortes WA, 20 minutes away, there is a 91 GLi16v for sale. All original paint, BBS factory wheels, 135000 miles, Recaro interior in excellent shape, no rips, 3600 bucks. Much better deal I think? I'm not really looking for another car, but 16vs around here are rare and maybe somebody on the list is interested. I would be glad to inspect.
