I broke a belt yesterday evening i was wondering if anyone could tell me
what it is

Near the alternator there are three belts the one that i broke was the
middle one. When the car is on the alternator belt does not turn
Then you are very lucky that you didn't brake the "hidden" belt also known
as timming belt. The one you broke drives the AC and WP (I think) so you
shouldnt be running the car. The AC drives the alternator and that's why the
alternator does not turn
any suggestions?
Yes, replace all belts including the timming belt and tensioner
