I just had the 02 sensor die on my car, after 166,000 miles. Yup, it was the original one. These are the symptoms it gave me as it was going bad: - hesitation on acceleration. - press the gas, nothing happens, then it suddenly takes off. - When letting off the gas, the idle jumps to about 2000, stays there for a couple of seconds, then finally goes back down. - Car idles at 1100 instead of 900rpms. - Poor throttle response. - Slightly rough idle.
There you go. When the car started acting up, I knew it was the 02 sensor. The check engine light came on, I pulled the code, and my assumption was correct.
