As much as I dislike them b/c of their "racer boy" image, I have
pedal covers on my racecar pedals as well as on my old '86 GTi.
While making the clutch and brake less slippery, it helps to widen
the accelerator pedal which aids in heel-toe driving. I used
Autolook covers b/c they were inexpensive but a myriad of covers now
exist that range from functional to showy (read: not worth the
money).

As for adjusting tension, I didn't realize that's an option. If that
were the case, I'd love to increase the tension on the '86 GTi
(street car) and decrease the tension on the '87 GTi (ITA car).
