You didn't hurt anything except that the rotors may be warped
(doubtful however).  You've just seated the rear pads very well <G>

Adjust the piston?  So long as you reset the pistons using the
turn/push method, the pistons are self-adjusting just like all disc
brake setups.  As for the rears staying cold - that's b/c the rear
wheels on most FWD cars serve to only keep the fuel tank from
dragging on the pavement.  The rear brakes do practically nothing
during heavy braking except to lock-up the rear wheels and flatspot
the rear tires.  On the street, I logged almost 100K miles before I
needed to replace the rear pads.  On the track, I replace the front
pads (Hawk Blue) 1 1/2 times before I replace the rear pads (organic
junk).
