Ryan Lewis -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, August 23, 2002 7:07 PM To: [email protected] Subject: gli question hi, i was wondering if you could help me with a little problem w/ my gli. its not been starting. i dont know how to describe it, it turns over, but wont start up. it did this for like 3 days after i first got it and it just started doing it again yesterday. its weird cause i would try it like 5-6 times, let it sit, then go out a half hour later and it would start up. today it took forever to. and when it did, it acted like it wanted to shut off, but i kept revving it so it wouldnt. then i took it for a drive and every time i would reach like 3000 rpm it seemed like it lost power. and thats always when i try to shift, but its never done that before. pretty much after i got through all 5 gears, it didn't act like that again. the last time its done this, i got it started and took it over to my boyfriends house, since he knows pretty much everything about volkswagens, and he left it sit over night...but the next morning he tried and it started right up for him. and i think it only did it one other time after that. my boy doesn't know what it could be. they replaced the rotor and dist cap and i think 2 spark plugs, when i got it. i know nothing about cars, and i just wanted someone elses opinion of what it could be. i'll probably end up just taking it to a mechanic. my dad tried it and he thinks it could be electrical. i almost think that its my 5th injector. since it only acts like this when i first try to start it in the day. its never done it twice after its been started. its an 88, so i dont know if that has anything to do w/ it. it also only has like 109 km on it. if you can give me anything, that would be great. thank you for taking the time to read this. and anything that you can tell me would be great. thanks again.
