So a couple of weeks ago I'm driving along and all of a sudden can't get a
gear. Stop the car, run the shifter through the gates with the engine off
and everything seems ok. Start the car up and drive away. I take it easy
over the next couple of weeks and things seem ok. I can shift without the
clutch no problem. Then I forget myself and get on it between first and
second...clutch pedal goes to the floor. Even clutchless shifting is a bit
difficult.

I take a look at the pedal assembly and everything looks ok, cable is moving
and the lever arm on the trans is moving ok too. Take the end cap off to
look at the little lever thing and the througout bearing. I have to move
the lever arm up to slightly above parallel to the floor before that little
finger touches the bearing. I think this is about the end of it's normal
travel so something is up. I tried to take the slack out of the cable to
see if I could get the clutch to disengage but there isn't enought length to
be had in the cable. Looking at the throughout bearing I don't know if it's
sitting in it's correct position (if it's too far inward or not.

What's next to check?
