All,
  I just got a fan-frickin-tastic deal on a perfect '95 VR6 GLX for
$5000 so someone needs to buy one of my current cars. No nasty
surprises on either car...
You can see both at http://www.splatterfish.com/pics/car/

The '91 16v GTI has a lot of little cosmetic issues...paint is pretty
sandblasted on the nose of the car, a few minor dings here and
there, scratches, etc. Paint quality sucks. Mild rust around inside of
windshield. It lived in Boston and NYC. Nothing major, and never
any major incidents. 126K miles. New Kraftswerk tranny/clutch.
Lightened flywheel. Weitec suspension (drops the car WAY too
much for my taste, but does look kind of cool). TT aluminumized
exhaust w/ center resonator. Nice Momo wheel. Ferodo/ATE
brakes. TT chip. Basically everything works except for the coolant
guage and fuel mileage on the MFA. Has its fair share of rattles ->
heat shield on downpipe is coming in contact w/ front sway bar right
now. Lifters are a little noisy. Valve cover gasket leaks a little bit at
the back. Lots of new parts over the last couple of years. Very
good mechanical condition. $2200 OBO.
Other car for sale is a '88 Audi 5Ktq. 144xxx miles, pearl. I
bought this car about two months ago, and we got off to a very
rocky start. When I got it, it was making 1.1 bar boost. I
replaced the intercooler and crank breather hose and now the
car makes a solid 1.3 bar boost. I've also replaced the
instrument cluster to fix the trip computer. New bilstein struts
up front w/ new strut mounts as well. New blower resistor to
fix stuck-on-high blower. The car drives very nicely now. The
car was taken off road into a corn field two owners back, and I
was told by the previous owner that everything had been fixed.
Unfortunately, when I took it to have it aligned, it wouldn't
align. I had a body shop put a used (from force5) subframe in
the car, and now it aligns perfectly. The frame is just fine says
the body shop I took the car to. Currenty problem areas: A/C
does not work. Compressor siezed up. Previous owner told me
it worked, and five minutes after I bought it, it siezed up
completely. I have a used compressor from Force 5 that'll go
with the car. RF door has a dent in the lower front corner from
the off road excursion. Right side fender is white, not pearl.
Force 5 has both of these body parts in pearl for $65 and $40
respectively. Bomb seems to be leaking a bit of pentosin, so
that also needs replacement. All in all, the car is very solid...I
just got ripped off by the previous owner. It won't take much to
make the car very, very nice. Price is $2000. I'll post a good
closeup of the dent on the door ASAP. FWIW, a chip + WG
spring will get you up to around 220-230 horsepower on this
car for ~$100 if you can solder.
