Just be sure to support the engine/tranny with a floor jack before you
remove the mount, since you'll need to raise things up a little to
remove/replace it.

Dunno.  I left the block on, but have always wondered what difference
removing it would make.  The only reason I can think of that it's there in
the first place is to change the resonant frequency of the drive train
vibrations.  With all the things that have been changed on some of our cars,
it could either help or hurt things.  Just have to try it both ways, I
guess...
