[a2-16v-list] Somewhat Urgent: Belt Q

        I'm putting my engine back together after removing the a/c.  No real
problems, except that the belt the dealer told me would run the alt. on a
non-a/c 16V is not the right length.

        Anyone know what length belt I need to run the alt. in its STOCK 
location
on a car that at one time had a/c?  The belt has to clear the crank, H2O
pump, and then make it up to the alt.

        Going in the AM to buy a new belt, so any help b/f then would be
appreciated.
