I'm briefly returning from the dead to post this for a friend. I've driven
the car on the track, and it's definitely one of the nicer 16v's I've been
behind the wheel of. Very clean and well cared for, and the motor
definitely pulls like a 2.0 with a eurocam should :)

Here's the info:

90 GLI 2.0 16v, white, big bumpers, 126K total miles, < 10K on rebuilt motor
by Ron Wood/VW Specialties. Here are some specs, all of which was done to
ready car for the track 2 years ago:
engine/tranny: top and bottom rebuilt, new oil pump, rings, euro intake cam,
Garrett chip, timing belt/tensioner, alternator, upper/lower injector seals,
clutch/pp, Velocity limited slip diff kit, shifter bushing/linkage, early
solid rubber engine/tranny mounts, manual-adjust clutch cable, Eurosport 8mm
plug wires, water pump with early 1.8 16v accessories bracket, Mobil1 synth
and Redline MTL.

suspension: Bilstein Sports, H&R Race springs, VR6 strut bearings, Neuspeed
25/28mm swaybars, Eurosport strut bar, poly rear upper shock mounts, fr/rr
wheel bearings, -2.25 front camber, -1.5 rear camber

brakes: front Powerdiscs, stock rear rotors, Ferodos all around, SS brake
lines, ATE Superblue, North Viking brake cooling ducts. Brakes have never
faded...

cooling: new radiator, hoses, low temp thermostat, low temp fanswitch,
expansion tank & sensor, Eurosport external oil cooler. Coolant temp never
reaches 1/2 way mark and oil temp never exceed 240F at the track.

misc: driver side Schroth harness w/ stock belts intact, Optima battery,
Eurosport exhaust, "test" pipe for the track, frigid a/c, Euro Spec
rectangular headlites and stock US lites, Momo steering wheel, DTM style
shift knob, Sparco pedal covers, 5 GLI BBS w/ Dunlop SP8Ks. Prewired to
relocate battery to the trunk.

New motor has 3 track events, last time was Feb 2001. Some SoCal dubbers
that frequent the tracks can vouch for this car. I can provide contacts and
track results. Looks totally stock, 24mpg on mostly city driving, 30+ on
freeway. Exc daily driver that is ready to hit the tracks. Have all
receipts, asking $5,500...
