Can't speak on the VW question, but the Audi A4 2.8L does have a manual transmission.

Does anyone know if the transmission in this GLX is the same as the GLI? The GLI has a 4.00" inner joint and regular Jetta's have a 3.75". Is there an MT 2.8L in '99 and up (A4?) Jettas?
