I would think this. Sounds very similar to issues I had on my 2.0L 16V
before replacing the O2 sensor. Might want to try disconnecting the DPR
when this happens and see if you can get the car started and running. This
would be a pretty good clue that the O2 sensor is sending wacky signals to
the DPR.
