Eric:
    After you remove the thin nut on the short nipple, reach in ABOVE the
cooler [heat exchanger, actually] with a needle-nosed Vise-Grip (tm) and
loosen the nipple.  Unscrew nipple rest of way and lower it.  You'll be able
to slip the O-ring in without disconnecting the water lines; then replace
nipple & tighten w/ Vise-Grips.  Install & tighten nut, replace oil filter
and refill oil.  BT,DT.
