New to the 16v list, with my... ugh hum.. 8v 1987 GTI which I am the original owner. I have just happened upon a brand new pair of bumper covers from a 90-92 GTI. I still need to have them painted but just peeking around it appears that I will have to drill an additional hole for the side brackets to mount into the fender. Also, the original 1987 metal bumper does not look like it will facilitate the mounting of the front "big bumper" covers. Have not checked the rear yet, but assume the same. Does anyone know if their are any modifications besides the additional hole in the fender that can be done to mount them or do I need to search for both the metal bumpers to mount them? If so, does anyone know what I should expect to have to pay for the bumpers without the plastic covers? Also, do the 90-92 fog lights mount on the metal bumper itself?
