Eric,
I have a Techtonics SS cat back exhaust, with extra resonator (total of 2 resonators) and a SS Borla muffler. It is all mandrel bent, tip is the same single 55mm SS pipe exiting from the muffler out the stock location. Sound is definitely louder than stock, but not overly loud. Mine is on a GTI 16V so it is a slip fit on the cat end, the rest installs just like stock. If you are concerned about it being too loud, TT can install a "venturi" which will knock the sound level down some more. Or, you could use a baffled muffler, like a Flowmaster, instead of the straight through Borla. If you do decide to go with a TT system for good prices try [email protected]

Subject: [a2-16v-list] Exhaust for '91 GLi>
It's time for me to get a new exhaust system for my '91 GLi so I'm wondering what others out there have. I currently have a Leistritz and really like it
but I don't think they are made anymore. It's my daily driver so I don't
want something as loud as a Borla, but I also don't want the restrictions of
a stock system. I also live in N. Virginia which has emissions testing, so
not sure if I can remove the cat either.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Eric>
