I have a "jammed" rear caliper. I got this out of the Benteley
Before running the engine or moving the car, pump the brake pedal at
least 40 times to reset the automatic adjustment of the rear calipers.

CAUTION-

Running the engine and providing vacuum boost to the brakes while
resetting the automatic adjustment may jam the caliper.

I know I didn't pump the brake 40x before starting the engine, and I
know I started it to feel how the pedal felt. I guess I should have read
the CAUTION beforehand-
What exactly jams? How does the automatic adjustment work? How do I
un-jam the caliper?
No rush, it's too damn cold in my garage to do anything.

I just found this

NOTE-

The actuator levers on the calipers should be against their stops, as
shown in Fig. 7-8 or Fig. 7-9. If not, then the caliper's automatic
adjustment mechanism may be faulty.

What, where is the automatic adjustment mechanism?

Thanks in advance

Steve
