That would be interesting info. The traditional method is to use lighter 
springs and caps. 

I've always used OEM Hydraulic lifters. But Im finding they don't last very 
long. Same experience on my 8V engines as well as my 16v. After about two 
years, they get noisy and I have to replace them to quiet them down. So much 
for maintenance free.
