Mark,

Digifants are very sensitive to:
1) Any kind of vacuum leak
2) Grounding issues

Check all vacuum lines, seal to PCV valve in valve cover, dipstick, intake boots, etc. Check and clean all electrical grounds on engine, chassis and battery. Check, clean and put contact protector on all sensor connectors as well. The Bentley also has an extensive test procedure for verifying the sensor connections.
Fixing both of these will solve a good number of Digifant problems.

HTH,
GBergthold

Hey guys,
My bud just picked up a sweet looking 91 8V Jetta.
The problem is this thing is running very rich, it's blowing out black smoke and won't rev well above 3500rpms. We just got back from a drive to the coffee shop and on the way there the car woudn't rev above 3500rpm. On the way back 15min later it was bogging and hesitating

Since I don't know the digifont system that well I was hoping that someone would have the answer.

Thanks,
Mark Reda.
