Different trannys/clutch disks have different size shaft/holes. Could you be doing the old too big a shaft in too small a hole?? It should slide right in w/a little jiggling. Steve

I have to go tomorrow and find replacement bolts for both the pressure plate mounting bolts and the 12 flywheel bolts. Hopefully I wont have to take a roadtrip to a VW dealer. Also what type of grease is needed during the reassembly? My pressure plate was hard as hell to get off..first the mounting bolts were very very tight..then the pressure plate was majorly stuck in place. Either way it came off.
