sounds like my '91 GLi. The guy I bought it from couldnt sell it for the
longest time becuase it had a Totaled/Reconstructed title on it.
According to the carfax, 2 years after it was bought new, it got in a big
wreck and this guy bought it for pennies at an insurance/salvage auction and
spent $10,000 restoring it, which was cheaper than buying it new at the
time. At the time I looked at the car, he had finally paid it off and was
sick of it and wanted it gone, I gave him $2,200 for it and have been
driving it every since. I now have the totaled title to deal with, but I
dont plan on selling it any time soon, and after 3 years, the car has
redeemed its $2,200 i paid for it. Taking a loss is the least of my worries.

Hi,
I got a replacement for my late 92 Jetta Carat that my son crashed. Its a 91
Audi 200 Quatro for $2500. Its got the 5 cyl 20V turbo. All options, with
just 58,000 miles. It has been whacked big time, to the tune of $20,000
damage when it was 2 years old. There is no sticker on the door jamb. That
is where it was hit. It has a regular title. It was originally titled in NY
and retitled by the same owner in MA. I guess that makes it ok.
John
