How does the $200 Ross Fuel rail compare to the $160 fuel rail from Bahn Brenner? I know BBM fabricates one for the 16V G60 conversions.
(I was considering that option when I noticed I had a complete 9A/16V and a PG G60 engine sitting in my garage along with two fully rebuilt GLaders sitting on a shelf!) -Les -----Original Message----- From: Chad Rebuck <[email protected]> Sent: Sep 13, 2005 8:51 AM To: 16v <[email protected]> Subject: [a2-16v-list] standalone efi (megasquirt) cost breakdown Last time I posted on this list about going with a standalone efi I was set on SDS. Well, I changed my mind and now have all the pieces ready to do the install using megasquirt (www.msefi.com). I just have to finish building the megasquirt unit and spend the time to install it. I've been finding a lot of valuable info on vw vortex. For those interested in the cost for prepping a 16v for a turbo or if you just want to get rid of the stock fuel injection. This is what I have so far (all prices below include shipping/tax/etc). My plan is to get megasquirt running before adding the turbo. Then over the next few months (or years) I'll get all the turbo parts and begin the installation. $120.00 megasquirt main boards $168.00 megasquirt digi-key components $48.00 megasquirt cases $21.50 air temp sensor $123.00 wiring harness and fuel injector connectors $169.00 Aeromotive 13101 fpr and pressure gauge $40.00 Passat auto 16v throttle body $200.00 ross fuel rail $208.00 42lb injectors $10.00 injector cups - 037 133 555 A $1,107.50 If you all are considering megasquirt please note it is much easier to just buy all the components from a supplier like glen's garage or rs-autosport even if you plan to build the system yourself. I spent some time trying to track down parts that were on back order from digikey and really didn't save much money.
