I think that I used my only spare to replace one on my son's car (I believe the Datsun 240Z - yep - a direct interchange! Maybe there are other cars that used the same design, too: why reinvent the wheel?) If the rain stops, I can take a look tomorrow to see what brand the Japanese one was; but if it keeps up, the fly's-eye effect on my glasses makes it hopeless to try reading anything in letters less than half an inch tall... We were looking at his failed unit, and saying to each other, "Man, that looks almost like the Bosch part on VWs!" When we compared, we found the identical footprint and connector. Everything mounted right up without cobbling, and worked perfectly. It has been several years, though, so maybe I've forgotten some other detail. Still, I KNOW that it was a VW part used on a Japanese car, so maybe you can find one on a non-obvious donor car from a salvage yard.

I'm looking for one of these if any of you "parts collectors" have one
