I'd used polyurethane on a couple of my previous Vws. Depending on the location, many required regular maintenance. The squeaks and groans were annoying. Constant lubrication also attracted dirt which further stressed the regular maintenance. The extra firmness translated to BUZZ which became annoying to passengers. Furthermore, On my corrado, I ended up replacing CD disc players once every few years as the sport suspension with its polyurethane bushings eventually took its toll on the vibration sensitive player. I've kept the Poly bushings on the aftermarket sway bars simple because that is how they were supplied from the manufacturer. I don't know if an OEM bushing exists for the larger diameter sway bars.
On my Golf GL project, I've opted to revert everything back to OEM rubber and bypass the Polyurethane bushings in all cases--except one---the manual steering rack. I'm not using power steering. (I may regret that choice) The only other upgrade I did was solid rubber Audi TT bushings on the rear of the A-arms. Other than that, my Golf is entirely OEM for the remainder of the bushings. -Les On 11/25/11 12:40 PM, "Jack Simon" <[email protected]> wrote: >Make sure you've got a really good dental insurance plan, you will need >it to have your fillings replaced!! > >On 25 Nov 2011, at 15:36, Chad Rebuck wrote: > >Anyone out there with experience and opinions on bushings?
