As our cars age, we will be using more and more chemicals to treat, repair and
prevent.

Ran across this tidbit this morning:

"In the 1950's Dr. Norm Larson started a company call Rocket Chemical Company.
He was coming up with a new formula for a chemical to resist prevent corrosion
in the nuclear missile silos. When he finally came up with the working formula,
it was dubbed, Water Displacement 40th Attempt, or WD40. Much to his surprise,
WD40's market was much bigger than that of atlas missile silos. He named the
company the WD40 Company thereafter."
