Jack, I don’t think anyone who has owned an MK2 is a young`in, so we’re all up there in age. I think it will actually be one of the challenges with ‘nostalgia’ cars like MK2s - how to get a younger generation interested and active to keep things alive. Aircooled VW and Porsche people seem to have done a good job of that with clubs and such – Watercooled VW not so much. But we’re helping a little here. All of our messages are being preserved as a legacy for future generations of enthusiasts of these cars. Maybe they’ll learn a thing or two from us long after we are long gone..

The manager of the dealership was a very good friend of my Dad's and we got a decent price - brand new 62 VW Beetle for $1543 on my 19th birthday - and didn't have to wait for it.
