My '92 had to be getting close to the end of production, at least for US vehicles produced in Mexico. I would imagine that there is a way to do a VIN search, at least for cars originally sold in the US. At least we know the last Mk2 in the US has to be a '92, since all '93 forward are Mk3's. And as I recall, the first Mk3 GTI's were '95's, at least the VR6 models.
