The reasoning behind the availability of reproduction parts for classic American cars is, of course, money. An original '69 COPO Camaro can sell at auction for well into the six figures. You can build a virtually brand new one from repro parts (there is a company that sells complete brand new '69 Camaro bodies for under thirty grand), for probably around $50K. If our cars had that kind of residual value, you can bet there would be companies producing similar offerings. It just doesn't make financial sense to do that for cars that in absolutely perfect original condition that would do well to bring ten grand. I agree, it's still ashame, but as with virtually everything in life, money talks and... That being said, maybe a little online searching for German companies that may actually be doing something for our cars?
