I have been using four of the Harbor Freight ones to push my GTI around the
garage for four years now, they seem to work just fine – the locking mechanism
does not work well but the wheels roll just fine on my concrete floor. For
the price, I have no complaints. They do have sharp corners though, so I
positioned them with the wheels in a certain way so I can put the edge of the
dolly close to the tire to help keep someone from hitting that sharp edge.

Gee, Matt, I never knew you were from the UK! (tyre)😊

These dollys are very similar to those found at Harbour Freight with the
exception that the Amazon version doesn't have the tyre "catch fence" on either
side of the dolly. The big issue with any of these dollys are the wheels.
Because the wheels are not pneumatic (read: inflatable or otherwise soft), they
tend to get stuck on floor imperfections and even little bits of trash on the
floor like tiny nuts and bolts.

I'm looking for a way to move/rotate my 16v gli around in my garage to store
and work on it. Came across these wheel dollys on amazon that have mostly good
reviews.

The less expensive ones from harbor freight or other similar stores have very
bad reviews from what I saw.

I no longer have my vw registered or insured so I'm getting closer to parting
with it. If you know someone who wants a 16v turbo gli I've got one that will
be going on craigslist and vwvortex soon I think. It isn't a perfect looking
car (ok, quite far from it) but it sure does run well!
