May I point you to the wiki page

where I try to collect the mapping of the Garmin types to the
categories for different GPS units. If you own a GPS unit of a
different product line it would be great if you could collect that
data and add it. This will help everybody to optimize his map for all
GPS units, not only for the one unit he happens to own.
