You could add source=extrapolation to the corridor footways you make up,
or you could add access=private to the bridge and modify the style so
that access=private bridges are omitted. I already did something similar
to access=private tunnels (leading to underground facilities, which
would be confusing to see when moving above the facility).

What if you converted the bridge to a building polygon, layer=1 or so?
