please post a log that shows what fails with ant dist, e.g.
ant -d dist > build.log

I'm not sure if this problem is caused by my use of git (through the
openstreetmap github mirror of splitter). In any case, I've attached a patch
that seems to fix the problem but I'm not exactly sure if it's the right fix.
Any thoughts?
