Thanks, Gerd, for looking into this. The problem is now nailed down to one of the other address files that are merged with the planet file. So there is currently no need to change Splitter's code.

It looks like a signed 32 bit integer problem? Splitter is running on
Linux x86_64, Java OpenJDK 1.7.0_95 64-bit (mixed mode).
