confirmed: adding the appropriate --code-page=something (depending on
what the source map is) does get rid of the warnings...

You need a --latin1 or --code-page=1252
I may have some tricky code in the gmapsupp case which guesses the
correct code-page from the first file or something, so maybe it
wasn't needed before.
