Hi Hennning,

I guess you have hgt files without voids and you don't use --dem-poly.
I think in that case everything works fine. You can remove the x- when an
option is documented in
the help. At the moment, only one dem option is not documented:
--x-dem-outside-polygon.

I still try to find out what has to be changed to avoid the crash in MapSouce.
I am pretty sure that
the problem is not in the DEM data, but in the TRE or *.tdb file.

Gerd

Hi Gerd,

I used the aligning to 360 in splitter as you suggested and
x-dem-dist=3312,6624,13248,26496,52992 and it seems to work for me in both
directions. I also tryed longer routes with about 1500 km, but of cause with
some intermediate points.

Henning

Btw: I guess that I can remove the x- in front of the dem-options, am I right?

Hi Gerd,

I tested your patch but I still see frequent crashes near tile borders.

Onderwerp: [mkgmap-dev] patch for crash in MapSource

Hi all,

attached is a patch that seems to help in many cases where --dem-poly causes
crashes in MapSource "Show Profile..."
A binary is here:
http://files.mkgmap.org.uk/download/414/mkgmap.jar

It changes the TRE file and the *.tdb file.
I still see a few crashes but maybe those are caused by other problems.

Please try and let me know your results. I found no bad impact so far,
long distance routing still seems to work, but I've not tested much.

@Steve: Maybe we have to make sure that the areas in *.tdb do not overlap.
In this case this patch is not yet okay.

Gerd
