Hi Colin,

it can handle multiple via nodes or via ways. IIRC mkgmap converts via ways to
via nodes and there is a limit of 7 arcs in a route restriction.
So, I think you can have up to 6 via nodes. If there are more mkgmap should
complain and ignore the restriction.

Hi Gerd,

In this case, I am glad I am mistaken! Thanks a lot!

Are there any limitations to the topologies it can handle? Is
from-via-via-via-to OK for example?

Colin

Betreff: [mkgmap-dev] Turn restrictions - via ways

Hi,

I just read that the iD editor now includes support for via ways in turn
restrictions. Making them so accessible means that in time we are going to see
more and more of these constructions. If I am not mistaken mkgmap can only
handle a via point as a node in a turn restriction, because that's the way
Garmin works. Is there any way we can maintain the functionality of mkgmap by
allowing turn restrictions involving via ways?

Thanks,

Colin
