Gerd,
the Zumo XT is the latest Garmin product and it supports NTU maps - so,
yes I suppose unicode is fully supported. Is there a way for me to
double-check that?
Thanks!

Hi Enrico,
are you sure that the device supports unicode maps? Note the last
sentence in the description of the code-page option:
--code-page=number
Specify which international character set is to be used. Only 8 bit
character sets are supported so you have to specify which code page you
want to use. It is entirely dependent on the device firmware which code
pages are supported.
