Gerd, Thanks for tip, I'll try that out. As for the POIs it is because I have tried to keep file size to a minimum (below 2MB) I have very few entries in my "points" file so the POI list is an assortment of offshore islands and some ponds scattered across a 300km radius. Not very useful. I have remedied this by not having anything except towns, village and cities in the "points" file. I decided ti share my UK map file at sites.google.com.view/etrex10 if anyone's interested.
