There are at least 3 problems I can see with sending stories as email attachments, instead of in-line in the email. 1) Not every one may be able to open the attachment. -- I realize that RTF is fairly universal at this point and shouldn't be too big of an issue, but I did want to mention that. 2) Some mail systems may strip off attachments for security reasons. 3) Not everyone gets the individual emails, and instead subscribes to a digest that summarizes the day's emails in a single email. The list server strips off the attachments when that happens. If you look at the quoted email from Zamir, that's what happened here.
