I guess by that time Thanh will be off (or at least greatly reduced) whatever watch Andwyn has him on as a Giantdowns newcomer, having not done anything untoward and in fact helping out with external patrols during the quarantine. His apprentice would be left behind at Metamor on such a serious mission.
