Hi Jack,

This story does a nice job of giving us a better sense of who Nemo is. While we do not learn the details of his loss, only that it occurred and that he blames himself (at least in part) for it. I suspect tat his hatred for the Ecclesia is also part of this loss but it's not clear how, especially since it seems to be suggested that he was once a knight of the Ecclesia. There is a great deal of bitterness here in him, for only bitterness could have led him to work for such a disreputable man. It is clear that he sees James as a way to redeem himself too (at least to me it seems clear).

Of course, we still don't know what Nemo is changing into but I guess we'll have to wait a little bit longer to be certain.
