So far as I see it... attempting to publish MK, especially stories 20 and more
years old, is not really feasible for all of the reasons thus far given.
Creating a new story, an new plot, a new character just stumbling onto the
scene which gives the writer the ability to run down the current situation and
history that's already passed, and then taking their story forward... *WOULD*
be feasible if one is looking for publication.  That story could actually
include well known characters, with the permission (and perhaps manumission of
or remuneration to) the creator of said character.  Some well known characters
could not realistically be overlooked... Duke Thomas, Misha, and the like -
they're notable citizens.  Secondary, but popular, characters such as Drift,
Murikeer, Malger, Matthias, Raven, and many others could have large or small
presences in such a work, and I suspect that their creators would be willing to
allow it - with some caveats as to what can or can not happen to or with said
characters.

THIS would be something to work toward, and would have the potential to bring
new readers to the setting.

Heck, base the story in Euper or Keeptowne rather than the heart of the Keep.
Sort of like... bringing Harry Potter into the Hogwarts scene after it had
already been well established decades earlier with writers creating Dumbledore,
Snape, Valdemort et al and etcetera.  It's a marvelous vehicle to introduce
readers to Hogwarts and its goings on and still make it seem 'fresh'...

Okay, I didn't think you were really serious about this, but now I have to ask:
What is the purpose of publishing a set of MK stories? Especially the first
dozen or so stories that have been available online for free for 20+ years?
Is there going to be any exclusive content in this book? Will the stories be
edited to match all our worldbuilding, or tied together into a single coherent
plot? Will there original, high-quality illustrations? Will there be
behind-the-scenes information?
Is the money going to a good cause? What will publishing an anthology
accomplish that a donation drive or fundraiser (for the community, or an
author) wouldn't?

Of all the possible selection of MK stories you could pick, why the first
dozen? Everything after the first story, and before "Tis The Season", was
written within the first 3 weeks of MK's existence. Do we want to shun all the
newer writers of MK who loved the world enough to join and contribute to it 10+
years later, in deference to the one-story authors who thought nothing of
continuity or tone or plot, only of joining the latest TSA fad, who have long
since left us, some of whom have disowned furry writing entirely, including
their own MK stories?
The only reason I can see, apart from "that would be neat", is as some way to
preserve Metamor Keep for the ages. I don't think published-for-money e-books
are the way to go for that.

I think going with the first dozen or so stories would be good. Cope's
original story will have to be in there but which other ones? Do with only use
the Canon stories?

Also we will need Cover art for the cover off the Book. Im thinking just E-Book
format. Not paper books.
